2 not sit back and let the world buffet us around. Let's pool our ideas, talents, and resources and improve what we already have. Now it all boils down to this, Gus. Do you think its a good idea? Will you do it? Let me know as soon as you can, or just go ahead--that is ok by me. Incidentally, maybe you had better let me know again how much I have in the Ia City & Omaha banks. We will, of course, plan to leave the bonds & stocks intact. Had a brief letter from Ben today saying that he had gotten a down on his "D" check. It is nothing to get alarmed about. He undoubtedly will make the grade next time. Also in today's mail I received a note from the beauteous Glendora. I shall enclose it in my letter and I wish that you would file it in my box. Not having ever dated Glendora I had little claim on her affection. And although her announcement of impending marriage came as no great surprise I admit it was with a bit of regret that I penned my congratulations. That makes 3 of my "lovely ones" who are getting hitched this winter. Never has a man gone off to war freer of romantic entanglements. Things go well & I feel fine. Much love, Nile Won't pull out of here until Sunday or Mon. I'm quite sure.
