Thank you for your prayers and steadfast faith. After the war we shall be a better, happier, and more prosperous family that ever before. I hearby acknowledge receipt of the candy, the Sentinel, and the editorial on Winston Churchill. All were enjoyed and much appreciated. The candy was very good, mother. Had the most wonderful letter from grandma a couple of days ago. I had written her telling how I missed Thanksgiving at her house. She evidently appreciated the sentiment very much. Am also enclosing a paragraph of a letter from Uncle Chas. Not knowing too much about football he thinks I am about the best whoever wore a cleat. Guess he doesn't now that Harmon, and probably others, got all the trophies to which he alludes. Have you heard from Ben lately. He
