its too bad I didn't receive Ellie's address sooner, for her apartment, is only about six blocks from the Commodore. The trip back to Providence was a little better than the trip down, but not much. Nonetheless, it was worth the effort, and I'm glad I went. Mon. night I intended to write you, but finally yielded to an early desire for sleep. Tuesday I accepted Bill Reiter's invitation to have dinner with him and his wife. Bill is a Yale graduate with a year or so's experience teaching at Lawerenceville Prep School. In my estimation he is the best guy in the squadron, and I think, he considers me a pretty fair gent. We get along fine and are fortunate enough to fly together all the time. During his leave in Sep't he married a lovely girl from California whom he had met at Sun Valley a year or two ago. It seems she is one of the best women skiers in the U.S, having competed in the last Olympics. They, and another couple, have rented a large house about ten miles out in the country south of the station. It is a beautiful stone place, the summer home of a wealthy family
