Sunday Feb. 7, 1943 Dear George, I believe I am now in debt to you for two letters, the last one being the best you have yet written to me. It showed definite improvement in sentence construction and unity of thought. Nonetheless, I am reinclosing it with a few comments which may be of help to you - if you can receive the criticism in the spirit with which it is given. Nothing can be of more lasting value to you than the ability to speak and write well. One's efforts along this line should never cease. I am not surprised that you are having difficulty in scoring from the guard position. I had the same difficulty both at Benson and at Iowa. In each case, however, I was transferred back to forward where I contributed my share of the buckets. Perhaps, you will have the same experience. In any event the important thing is to do the job which will help the team the most. A guard who can bottle up an opposing forward,
