of that wonderful auditorium is worth the price of admission in itself. Around five oclock as I was checking out of my room the phone rang putting me into contact with Kevin Cronin, a Bronx boy I had known at Iowa. He had heard that I had been in New York three weeks ago, and just called the Commodore on the chance I might have come in again. Can you beat that! We got together for about an half hours visit, before I had to meet Bill and Clareta and start back. We got into Kingston about ten oclock, and they were good enough to ask me to stay the night with them. Today was more like spring - pretty warm and the ground soft with early thaw. Didn't get a chance to fire, because I was scheduled for tow hops. In fact I have only had one gunnery hop since last I wrote, and that time we lost the sleeve, so I don't know whether I was hitting or not. The men who attended the commissioning of the Lex said it was really quite impressive, and that it is literally covered with anti-aircraft guns of all types. As soon as I can determine for sure our departure time, or approximately so, there are a good many things I shall send home.
