We are asked to travel light and that is fine by me. This afternoon I made arrangements for an allotment of $125 of my monthly salary payable to mother starting in April. Would like to have you buy one or two war bonds each time, put $5 in the church collection, and deposit the rest. Although the deal with Lytton is off I would like father to continue to scout around for some desirable land. With things going the way they are it might be best to hold just what we have now. Believe that I shall write Frank Williams for his advice on investment apart from land. Received a chit from the disbursing office indicating that $1295 is the figure on which I would base my computation. As I said, in my last letter if you can let me know what I received in dividends, I shall fill out my income tax blank here. I am at too great a distance and too long out of contact to advise concerning George's future. However, Wyoming sounds better than Alaska. Trust he realizes the world is not all sugar and cake, and that employers can be mighty exacting and impersonal. Its time he learns in any event. Frankly, I shall be disappointed if he goes off to college at 17 years of age. More strongly put - I am against it. Discuss it with Ben who will undoubtedly be home on leave before next fall. One other thing - with all due respect to Dade don't let George go
