Saturday Feb. 27, 1943 Dear People, This was my day off, but I elected not to go anywhere this time. Last night after a nice warm shower, I lay in bed reading until quite late. Alternating among Life, Time, Readers Digest, and Churchill's "Unrelenting Struggle" supplemented by reference to my dictionary and small Rand-McNally Atlas, I spent a comfortable, enjoyable and educational evening. Rising late this morning I spent about an hour studying the lesson, and as always it was comforting, encouraging, inspiring. This afternoon I took the bus into Providence to see Bob Hope's recent movie, "They Got Me Covered." It was a riot from start to finish. A letter from Ben states that he not only was accepted into the Marines but that also he is to get "P" boat training, as he wished. This is really fine, because it looked for awhile as if he would have to take VO-VS. Up until the time he is commissioned he will get the same kind of training as the Navy boys. After that, the chances are that he will be switched to land based multi-motored planes. I think he hopes to get into A-20-Hs, B-26s or B-25s, all medium type Army bombers, but there is greater likelihood that he will fly DC-3s, or some other kind of transport ship. I am basing my opinion on Pettit's experience. In any event he will get some fine twin engine training, and I think
