Thursday Oct. 22, 1942 Dear Mother, Bob just now brought your letter in from the squadron post office. It is hard for me to believe that I failed to enclose $5 in my greeting to George, but if the envelope showed no signs of having been opened I suppose I am guilty. In any event there will be a $5 bill in this letter for him to use as he sees fit; also, a $10 bill for the church, all of it to go to the Mother Institution or part of it to the Omaha branch. I couldn't be sure from your letter whether my per capita tax was $10 or whether that was the amount we had been giving for all us. Am reinclosing the remittance form which I want you to fill out and send to Boston. Use your judgement in the allocation. Have finished the biography of Alexander Hamilton and found it interesting and inspirational. He surely was quite a man. It was written in dramatic style, the author putting words into the mouths of her characters in the most noble manner. The following paragraph was especially
