Evening - This evening the air is cool and balmy the sky clear only one small cloud in the west - All nature seems to be preparing for repose - No one knows how much I enjoy such a quiet evening as this - In spite of all that I can do thoughts of home and home scenes come over me and a longing to see the dear loved ones at home comes over me - And then I think of my friends at Burlington and feal that they are friends indeed and that they often think of me - The good Lord of this Universe has been very good
