Monday Jan 12, 1942 Dear Bob: Enjoyed your long letter very much. Hope that you can get something in the Navy which will be to your liking. I do happen to know Comm. Wright pretty well, so I took the liberty of calling him this afternoon concerning a trivial matter in the hope that it would lead to an opportunity of giving you a plug. Happily enough it worked as I planned. He mentioned that you had sent him the article you had written and that I was to have one, also that you were coming down next weekend & would like to see me, etc. Using as much tact as I knew how I proceeded to tell him that I knew you quite well, that you were a fellow of considerable
