3 NILE C. KINNICK 5024 HAMILTON OMAHA, NEBRASKA At 10:30 we head back for the mess hall and lunch. At 11:15 we muster again and march back to class for two hours of carburetion study, one hour of meteorology, and an hour of radio. Then I hustle out to the ball field eager for some exercise. It is rather hard to stay awake all the time when you have so many classes right in a row. Tonight, Major Passmore, our coach, stuck me in behind the plate for the first night of batting practice. I got along passably well for the first catching I had done in five years. Was lunging & blinking my eyes a bit on strikes, however. Hope it wasn't as noticeable to others as it was to me. Around five oclock I am back in my room reading my mail and thumbing thru the D.M. Register. (I have already given them my address, but said nothing about an extended subscription which would be nice. Should be here until last of July at least) At 5:30 the mess hall
