Wednesday April 8, 1942 Dear Grandma, Summer is definitely on its way down here. We have had quite warm and very pleasant weather for the past week and a half - no rain, no fog. The whole case has changed to summer working uniform - khaki pants and shirt, light airplane cloth jackets - and it won't be long before we will all be wearing white dress uniforms. I understand it gets unbearably hot during the middle of the summer, even the baseball team terminates its season in July. Its hard for me to believe that it will get much hotter than it does in Iowa, but, happily, if it does each room is equipped with an electric fan. Incidentally, have I yet mentioned that I now have two roommates
