We finished up celestial navigation yesterday in which course I received a final grade of 3.6. Nothing short of 4.0 itself is completely satisfactory in a study as important as navigation, but inasmuch as I feel that I understand everything pretty well, I have no complaint. In instruments, a course involving the use of a computer to solve problems in true altitude and true airspeed, I got a 3.7. There are several boys with better marks so don't assume that your eldest son is carrying off the honors. Tomorrow I get my twenty hour flight check which will include slips to 100' circles, small field procedures, wing overs, and the inevitable cut guns.
