2 U.S. Naval Air Station PENSACOLA, FLORIDA well, my dear, you should see those magnificent farms and the barns simply bursting with grain. It was I who about burst with inward laughter. What a riot. Soon the cocktails made rounds and no one knew whether we were cadets or admirals, and everything was very congenial. When we left we were conventionally urged to come in just anytime, etc. May drop down for an ham sandwich and a glass of milk some Sunday night. Not having any whites as yet, nor Bob either, we couldn't leave the base over the weekend. Pettit, however, freshly out of the hospital was anxious to get to town, so I loaned him my car for the evening. Bob and I took a stroll, sat on the barrack steps and leisurely talked for awhile, then
