2 on the Mobile highway we located a likely looking place called Martines. We both ordered the K.C. steak with all the trimmings - french fries, green peas, head lettuce with thousand island dressing, hot rolls, and apple pie. You can't imagine how wonderful that tasted after three weeks of the same stuff at the cadet mess. Afterwards we stopped in at Mustin Beach and mingled with the crowd for an hour or so. Sunday morning I went to church and then down to beach with Bob after dinner. About five oclock I went out for 9 holes of golf while Bob finished up some navigation. And then, by golly, we drove back to Martines for a repeat - man was it good.
