Sunday 9-22-'40 Dear Mr. Gottsch: I am answering your letter not because I feel the need of justifying my decision to you but because I feel that you were more than sincere in your advice. It is good advice and presents reasoning that has been in my mind since I was approached by the Young Republicans. On the other hand I am not introducing Mr. Willkie because I expect him to do me any good but because I am a Young Republican and expect him to do this country some good.
