It was at the pap meeting and they had about a dozen speakers and I had to keep the thing moving as fast as possible --I think things went along pretty well--I don't know of anything I would rather do than be able to make an excellent speech or write real well--both as to content and delivery or execution. Well nothing beats practice and experience. Come to think of it I guess I tried my hand at masterof ceremonies at our senior banquet. Billy's folks were up this weekend and I found them mighty fine. You can judge the foks by the children pretty well--I thought they would be much as I pictured them. Both his parents are quite small but both very nice looking and intelligent people. Hi a lit tle sister--in the eighty grade was along--very cut4. My draft number nationally or rather my order number was 3 thousand something. and my order mumber here in the ounty is 1866--can you beat that--that date has more significance than 1776 as far as the iberation of mankind is concerned--rather interesting coincidence don't you think. From all I can gather I shouldn't get caught in this first call-- but very possibleyin July. it looks very much like Willkie might make it doesn't it--he'll need our prayers if he makes it as will the the present incumbent if he is reelectexd. Well the weeks go by faster and faster year after year and new forces are stirring within in me --I turst I hall be able to clarify them and act thereon and speak what 1 know. It will be interesting o see what the future shall hold. Thanks for the quotation and the sentinels of quite awhile ago. Always gload to get either or both. Saw Tom Hoak t o Sat.at the game and he said Ben got off the Arkansas alright--hope he is having a good time--how did he come out on t he draft do you know. Some guy from Fairfield was up to see about getting sme trophy or sweater or something to put in his window for a contest or
