New Deal date here, while Iowa observes the old fashioned Thanksgiving. Mother wants to come back to Adel for the 28th, and hopes that you and Ben can make it up to Adel. George and I shall be unable to come because of work day on the 28th. By the way, Maine said that he is going pheasant hunting Tuesday and will not back in Iowa City for two or hhree days, possibly Thursday. In three weeks the season will all over but the post schedule contests. It hardly seems possible, does it? Looks like Tom Harmon will be the top man this year unless he slips badly from here on. He didn't boost his stock much last Saturday, however. Bernie and his boys must feel well pleased and with two lesser games coming up. Hope that they don't get caught napping. We all liked the talks that Eddie and Lieb made Friday evening. They indicated good viewpoints in regard to football and athletics. It would appear that Iowa athletics are in good hands, judging from our rather casual contacts. I wonder if you have the same feeling. They make pretty wages but I do not envy them their jobs, however. There is no question that a coach has a position of responsibility and if he considers the larger aspects of his job can be a splendid influence on a large number of boys. Men like Suppke and Stagg chose a difficult profession but have proven themselves exponents of the highest type. Love Pop
