Wednesday 12-18-'40 Dear Mother: I wish very much that I could write & say that my time will be available to help George & use my "influence" with Ross; however, sadly enough I am going to have to spend the vacation recouping this semester's work - I really haven't done very well & I'll have to snap out of it. Sorry but that is the way it is. I'm sure the house must look wonderful - I'm anxious to see it. Will be home with Ben on the 24th in all probability. Yours, Nile
