TUESDAY 5 - 27 -'41
DEAR FAMILY
GOT MY GRADES  TODAY AND COULD HARDLY  BELIEVE MY OWN EYES--BUT  THERE IT
WAS 83.07 WHICH GIVES ME A RANKING IN THE CLASS 0 F ABOUT THIRD I  BELIEVE.
I'M HAPPIER THAN YOU CAN IMAGINE FOR WHILE I HAD HOPED I DIDN'T  THINK IT
POSSIBLE.     I  CAN BUT BOW MY HEAD IN HUBBLE THANKS.
SHOT A THIRTY SIX AT PERRY ON MONDAY AFTERNOON**THAT IS ONE OVER PAR.
TODAY A LADY HERE IN TOWN GAVE ME A SCRAP BOOK SHE HAS  BEEN KEEPING 
FOR ME**IT IS REALLY VERY EXCELLENT AND IS mOSTLY FROM IOWA CITY AND DAVENPORT
PAPERS SO WILL PROVE A GOOD SUPPLEMENT  TO FATHER'S.
Father,  if you know where I can get some literature on the farm problem
as particularly pertinent to Iowa would you let me know or get it  for me and
send it down here or keep it until I get home --the latter idea is probably
the best.
Take it easy and let me hear from you  if you have time.    Will be
at the Phi Psi house after the end of this week.
