3 Everything is setup for the big show-down now. Much grief and death will inevitably be the lot of our people in the next few years. But out of this the U.S. will emerge with a world prestige she should long ago have earned. A nation as well as individuals must unswervingly live according to principle. Sacrificing fundamental truths for temporary safety only postpones the issue. Had we had courageous leadership, & England also, in 1933-5 we could have avoided much of this mess. But now there is no retreat. We either fight to victory or there is no survival. We cannot lose because our cause is just & righteous. We would all do well to recall Lincoln's saying which is printed at the head of Sat. Eve. Post editorial page each week. "Let us have faith that
