Saturday Dec. 13, 1941 Dear People: Just time for a brief note before the afternoon schedule gets under weigh. Yesterday I was appointed a section leader by Col. Peters. Not a position of significance but gives me a little responsibility. Will have charge of about 12 men on detail duty, marching bet. classes, etc. Yesterday was also field day requiring that everything be thoroughly cleaned. Washed woodwork most of the morning. Don't recall seeing that in Dive Bomber, do you? Kenny's uncle, an officer stationed at Hickman field Hawaii, was killed during the 1st raid by the Japs. Kind of brings the war close to home. Was in the link trainer & little while yesterday. It is an artificial contraption used to
