but hang on as best I could. My plane leaped under me like a spirited horse, I eased my stick forward, felt the tail lift, then when the plane began to feel a little buoyant I began to pull my stick back. Before I knew what happened I was in the air and climbing for altitude. And so it has been with nearly all the maneuvers I have done well. The more I let the plane fly itself, within limits, the better I have done. Today I had landings for the first time. I don't believe they will be too hard to master. If they don't cause too much trouble I should be ready to check before too long. Perhaps, I am a bit too optimistic but that is how I feel right now.
