5. He wore them gaily driving out of town, This youth of ours who's building such renown, We saw him grinning broadly, As we moved about him sadly, But the green slacks brought a little of our frown. But let him wear them to the city if he will, Let him coach and let him speak unto his fill, In slacks or in top hat, Theres no matter as to that, For we love him just the same and always will.
