Orraha, Nebraska April 29, 1940 Dear Ben: Next Monday mother and I expect to be in Adel; I to look after some items on Grandmas farm and the Coffin Farms, and mother to attend an ETS alumni party. Then she will move back to Omaha on Tuesday and I will come on to Ames for the two day soils short course for the Bankers Mortgage boys. If I may, I will stay with you on Tuesday night. Reese Hastain and one of his staff, Leonard Kulish, and parhaps some others from the appraisal division, are coming over, and I shall be riding with Reese from Adel. If you do not hear from me again I will show at your quarters between five and six on Tuesday PM, tho I possibly will want to stay with the group for that evening. A more detailed study of the program for the evening will determine that. Mother brought home most of Nile's trophies Iast Thursday on her return from a four day visit with Mama. They are really grand, and when all of them are together they will constitute a display worth gazing. Negotiations have been started toward a window display of the collection by Nebraska Clothing during the Golden Spike celebration the middle of May. The ALL AMERICAN portion of the group is still at Adel as Nile wanted to have some pictures taken for Christy Walsh. We were over to Weavers for dinner Sunday. Very nice lunch and most pleasant chatting afterward. A homey, comfortable and charming brand of hospitality is dispensed there. Probably you know that Nile's trip to Sioux City was postponed from the 25th of April to the 10th of May, at which time he will spend a day or so at home. I understand from Bob, who called briefly one evening last week, that Nile will be unable to make your week end of celebration at Ames. I hope that he does make visit before the year is out. George is practically counting the days until he comes over for the BIG SHOW, and he can't figure how he can get over early enough. When do you want him to arrive? Aunt Ruth is coming up too, I believe. Love Pop
