SB 5-15-'40 Another thought has been recurring to me lately. You have declared your intention of passing the All-Star game next August. I presume that you have given that your complete consideration and feel no obligation nor possibility of profit there. If you are available from all appearances and have no other excuse than that you are busy on a job, I wonder if there might be an unfavorable reaction that have any bearing on your customer contacts later? You have been rather nicely treated by the general public, and while I have never been one to perform any act merely to make a favorable impression, it occurs to me that perhaps some effort might be justified to retain and continue the goodwill that was so completely yours last fall. Without urging you to take a different course than the one you now have in mind, I Just wanted to call your attention to this view point. Bob and George came in last Sunday evening about 9:45, and reported a plesant week-end at Ames. This afternoon, Wednesday, Grandma and Elizabeth drove in about 5:30 and will be with us until Monday. Tho Golden Spike celebrations are underway, and tho no wholesale participation is planned it is probable that we shall sec the exhibits at the Colisseum and the parades, etc. Next week I am planning to be on a trip into the wheat territory of Nebraska, possibly lasting 10 days. Your visits always seem so short but how welcome! Thanks for the card giving the schedule for the graduation events. We shall see you on the morning of the 3rd. Love Pop
