1/2 past one P. M. Ben wrote a letter to A. W. Fineout. Oct 13th Lt Col O. L. Spaulding & men started for Michigan after recruits, rained all day. Oct 14th Sargeant Hoag & myself went & got some chestnuts grapes & percimmons Oct. 15th last night a tedious old rain storm accompanied in the begining by heavy thunder & wind (our men brought in 36 prisoners Oct 16th weather cleared off in the afternoon
