December the rebs are all gone except some sick wounded and deserters, prisoners being brought in all day regt recd 4 months pay. 6th on piquet all quiet some shooting in the lines prisoners still coming in & deserters giving themselves up 7th the army starts in pursuit of the rebs marched about 12 miles (towards Strawberry Plains) & camped in the woods for the night weather fair & good marching.
