January 19th fell in about 11. AM & stacked arms the 4th corps went to Knoxville rails being piled near the r r bridge ready for burning we stay at the Plains pitch our tents & sleep unmolested regt draw a few boots 20th all day in camp 21st about 1 oClock in the morning we were called up to strike tents & evacuate the plains we marched across the river stacked arms & fired the bridge
