Mary Clark, Adelias Sister was married Christmas day to a young Gibson brother to James [Fifids?] wife. she was only seventeen. 6th John went up to Whittens yesterday to ask a about the flannel they have been promiseing all the fall she said they had not got the yarn from the factory yet: was going after it next day I guess we may as well give that up. Mr & Mrs Gage wishes to be remembered to you I told Chistina what you said about them her answer was thank him. James Rogers thinks that you ought to stay here says that Webster is not liked very well. I will close thinking we may get a chance to send thiss to the Post Office in the morning there are but few passing now days. Write as often as you can Good Night. Mary P. Bean Jan. 6th. 1862 I went up to Amos Stephens' yesterday; he said that Williams had worked for him to the amount of $56, that, he came for money one time, and another; untill he took the larger share of it up, and when they settled he (W) said he would turn $16,00 Stephens told him that he (S) supposed that he (W) was going to turn $20,00 but as he did not know what the Bill was & let it go at that. Johnson Gillette Paid $2.75 it being the am't on the bill John Whare does Squares live
